Why Reclaimed

Standard wall paneling is manufactured in a factory. It is uniform, predictable, and forgettable. Reclaimed barn wood is different.

Every plank in this collection was part of a real American barn, built over a century ago. The grain, the knots, the nail holes, the patina: none of it can be replicated. What you see on these boards is the real work of time and weather, preserved in wood that has stood for over a hundred years.

The result is a wall surface with depth, warmth, and character that no factory product can achieve. When light hits the grain, it creates shadow and dimension that changes throughout the day.

Multiply your wall width by its height to get the total square footage. We recommend ordering 10% extra to account for cuts, corners, and fitting. Each box covers 20 square feet, so divide your recommended total by 20 and round up. Use the calculator above for an instant estimate.
Yes. Every plank comes from a different barn with its own unique history, so natural variation in tone, grain, and texture is expected and is part of what makes reclaimed wood special. We hand-select each box for the best range of character, but no two planks or boxes will be identical.
Yes. The panels arrive natural and unsealed to preserve the authentic patina. After installation, you can apply a clear polyurethane, matte sealant, or wax to protect the surface. We recommend a matte or satin finish to maintain the natural look. For kitchens or bathrooms, a sealant is recommended. Allow the wood to acclimate for 48 hours before applying any finish.
Apply a construction adhesive like Liquid Nails to the back of each plank and press firmly against your wall. For added security, use brad nails at each end. Work from the bottom up, staggering the end joints for a natural look. The panels can be installed over drywall, plywood, or any flat, clean surface. A miter saw or circular saw will handle any cuts you need. Most accent walls take a single afternoon to complete.
The width is a matter of visual preference. 3.5" planks create more lines and texture on the wall, giving a detailed, layered look. 5.5" planks show more of each individual board's grain and character. For smaller spaces like bathrooms or nooks, 3.5" tends to work best. For large feature walls and living rooms, 5.5" creates a bolder statement. Both install the same way.
Brown panels come from the interior faces of barn boards, retaining warm amber and brown tones. Grey panels come from the exterior weathered faces, where decades of sun and rain have created a silvery grey patina. Both are 100% authentic reclaimed barn wood from the same barns. Choose brown for warmth, grey for a more modern, coastal, or industrial feel.
